Mountaintop wind farms, desert PV plants, coastal substations — energy and power assets sit in the harshest environments, pushing industrial PCs to the limits of reliability, interference immunity and long-term uptime.

Extreme Temperatures & Outdoor Exposure

Northwest PV sites hit +60℃ extreme heat in summer, while northeast substations drop to -40℃ in winter. Standard industrial PCs will not boot outside 0 to 50℃. The job calls for a wide-temp -40 to +70℃ design with fanless cooling, dust and moisture resistance, and anti-condensation protection.

High Electromagnetic Interference

Inside substations, kV-class high-voltage gear, arcing and harmonics generate continuous EMI / EMP. Ordinary equipment reboots at random or corrupts data. You need Class III EMC immunity, isolated power, isolated I/O and ±4kV surge protection.

Wind-turbine towers and remote PV plants often have no grid power and no fixed-line network. They require 4G/5G + BeiDou + LoRa + satellite multi-link automatic failover, paired with 9-36V wide-voltage input plus solar-direct or UPS backup.
