On August 27, 2025, CCTV's flagship evening news program reported that the first unit of the Greater Bay Area's first pumped-storage project — the Meizhou Pumped Storage Power Station Phase II in Guangdong — had gone online and begun generating power. As a key piece of peak-shaving infrastructure for South China, the station cuts CO₂ emissions by an estimated 700,000 tonnes per year.
In this nationally significant energy project, CESIPC's 21.5-inch redundant-power industrial panel PC (model UTC-W2192E) serves as a key component of the core control system. The central control display for the pumped-storage units that viewers across the country saw on the broadcast is in fact an industrial-grade product custom-built by CESIPC for this project.
The Project's Core Requirements
- Dual redundant power: hot switchover between primary and backup supplies, so a single-line fault never halts operation
- 21.5" widescreen: Full HD resolution for multi-window monitoring and dispatch
- 24/7 continuous operation: MTBF ≥ 60,000 hours, with no loss of critical data
- EMI resistance: specially engineered for the strong electromagnetic environment of a substation
The CESIPC solution: built on our in-house FlexCore™ modular board architecture, SafeCore™ dual-power redundancy, and a 21.5" industrial touchscreen, we delivered a complete central-console HMI for the project. As of this writing, the system has run more than 4,000 hours without a single fault, proving the reliability and stability of CESIPC panel PCs in a national-level critical-energy setting.
This project also establishes a benchmark case for CESIPC in critical control applications across pumped storage, wind, solar, and energy storage. Customers in these industries are welcome to discuss their customization needs with us.
